The kids are back in school, fall crafts are in full-bloom, and in some areas of the country, people are switching out their summer sundresses for fall tights. There’s a lot going on right now around the Internet.

Baseball is in full swing (look for my review of a fun baseball computer game tomorrow), and the Oakland Athletics are slowly slipping in their ranks. There may be a very heated baseball watching night in our household here – if the Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners wind up as the wild card teams. Naturally, I’d hope that they’d beat out the Angels for the top slot in the AL West, but it appears that’s not happening soon. According to an article from James Laube at Wine Spectator, wine and baseball have more in common than you would think.

Speaking of wine, there’s a release this weekend going on at New Clairvaux Vineyard. While they had a release party last night, if you leave in the Vina, CA area, you can head over and taste the new Primativo they’re releasing between 11 and 5pm today and tomorrow. I’ll try to get a review post up about the tasting shortly after we return from it. I’ve enjoyed their wines in the past, so I’m looking forward to it. New Clairvaux is one of the first vineyards to plant Greek varietals, which should be harvested soon. I’ve been seeing lots of posts about the increasing popularity of Greek wines – and no, folks, I’m not talking about Retsina! Mike Dunne at the Sacramento Beewrote about his thoughts on the trend.

The Fall Essentials Sew-Along for 2014 was kicked of this past week over at The Creative Perfectionist. I’m looking forward to sharing my plans with all of you for fall sewing. Since I’m planning on sewing a new wardrobe anyway, I’ll be sure to include some fall-specific items in my plan.

I finished a romper for Baby Girl from a sleeper pattern test I participated in, so I need to share my thoughts on that with you, I’m still working my way though reading Messy Beautiful Love, and I’m planning on finishing up a 12 month size jumper I’m pattern testing.

In case you missed it, there are still 9 days left in the giveaway for a $50 gift card for Amazon or B&N or a $50 shopping spree with Book Depository. Head over to my Review of Hand Of Chaos (which you should check out anyway) and enter!

I’m starting to think about Halloween and fall crafts, so if you have any favorites, please share them in the comments!
